Albreda & Kunta Kinteh Island
2-day River Journey
Travel upriver to one of The Gambia’s most important historic destinations. Albreda, Kunta Kinteh Island and their related sites are recognised by UNESCO for their exceptional testimony to centuries of encounters between Africa and Europe.
The island’s ruined fort and the historic sites around Albreda preserve the memory of the transatlantic slave trade and its abolition. For many visitors, particularly members of the African diaspora, this is a deeply moving journey into history, memory and ancestral roots. During this journey, we will cross the Gambia River from one bank to the other, allowing you to experience the impressive width of the river.
Day 1
- 9:00 am: Depart Denton Bridge
- Approximately 3½ hours of sailing
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- 3:00 pm: Visit Albreda and the Slave Museum
- 6:30 pm: Dinner and night on board
Day 2
- 8:30 am: Breakfast
- 10:30 am: Visit Kunta Kinteh Island
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- 3:30 pm: Begin the return cruise
- Approximately 7:00 pm: Arrive at Denton Bridge

Bintang Bolon
2-day Escape
Discover one of The Gambia’s most beautiful and peaceful waterways. Bintang Bolon offers a quieter side of the country, where the river winds through lush vegetation and the landscape feels far removed from the busy coastal resorts.
During this two-day journey, take time to enjoy the changing scenery, observe life along the riverbanks and visit Bintang village. Meet local people, discover everyday village life or simply remain on board and relax in the calm surroundings. The cruise also includes a crossing of the Gambia River from one bank to the other before we explore the quieter waters of Bintang Bolon.
Day 1
- 9:00 am: Depart Denton Bridge
- Approximately four hours of sailing
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- 2:30 pm: Explore Bintang or relax on the catamaran
- 5:00 pm: Evening cruise
- 7:00 pm: Dinner and night on board
Day 2
- From 9:00 am: Breakfast
- Three hours of relaxed sailing
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- Approximately four hours of sailing back to Denton Bridge
- Approximately 7:00 pm: Disembark at Denton Bridge

Lazy Cruise
2-day Slow River Escape
Leave schedules and fixed destinations behind. The Lazy Cruise is designed for guests who simply want to slow down, enjoy the river and let each day unfold naturally.
Over two peaceful days, we will sail gently along the Gambia River and explore quiet bolongs whenever the tide and conditions allow. There is no fixed destination and no need to rush. Relax on deck, enjoy the surrounding nature, try some fishing or stop for a swim where conditions are suitable.
Day 1
- 9:00 am: Depart from Denton Bridge
- Relaxed sailing along the Gambia River
- Explore peaceful bolongs depending on the tide
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- Afternoon relaxation, fishing and swimming when conditions permit
- Find a quiet anchorage for the evening
- 7:00 pm: Dinner and night on board
Day 2
- From 9:00 am: Breakfast
- A slow morning of sailing and exploring
- Time to relax, fish or enjoy the surroundings
- 1:00 pm: Lunch on board
- Gentle return cruise towards Denton Bridge
- Approximately 7:00 pm: Disembark at Denton Bridge
The itinerary remains flexible and may be adapted to the tide, current and weather conditions.

Accommodation: each multi-day cruise welcomes up to 10 guests. Our three cabins sleep up to six guests on board; up to four additional guests stay at our partner lodge.
